Ahmedabad: The Gujarat government has unveiled a significant plan to establish 16 new government colleges across the state. This initiative, announced on Monday, includes the introduction of additional academic streams at eight existing institutions.
In total, around 117 teaching and non-teaching positions will be filled as part of this expansion. Officials have identified specific vacancies for each college, and they expect the recruitment process to kick off shortly.
The new Arts, Commerce and Science college is set to open in Hathijan, Ahmedabad. Other locations slated for new colleges include Khanpur, Una, Dhanera, Maliya, Ranpur, Dahegam, and Gadhshisha.
But that’s not all. Tribal regions will also see growth in educational opportunities. New approvals have been granted for colleges in Banaskantha, Valsad, Mahisagar, Dahod, and Chhota Udepur districts. Additionally, two new colleges are planned for Surat district along with one in Navsari.
This effort reflects a push towards improving education access statewide. With these developments on the horizon, communities can anticipate more opportunities for higher learning soon.
