Ahmedabad is feeling the heat. On February 18, temperatures across Gujarat soared, with the Indian Meteorological Department confirming that many cities experienced conditions well above seasonal averages.
A standout was Ahmedabad, where the mercury reached a sweltering 34.2°C. Not far behind, Vadodara reported 33.0°C, and its night temperature climbed to 19.4°C, also above normal. Rajkot didn’t lag either, registering 33.5°C. Even Surat, known for its slightly cooler climate, saw daytime highs of 32.2°C.
Across other regions in the state, Deesa recorded the highest maximum temperature at 34.3°C. Coastal areas like Okha (26.8°C), Diu (27.8°C), and Dwarka and Veraval (both at 28.2°C) remained relatively mild compared to inland cities.
The weather has been consistently dry throughout Gujarat with no rainfall observed at any monitoring station this week. While several inland locales registered higher minimum temperatures than usual, coastal spots enjoyed cooler nights—especially Diu and Porbandar.
This trend comes with high morning humidity levels; for example, Daman peaked at an impressive 96%. Evening humidity also remained elevated in Dwarka and Veraval.
The overall picture shows Gujarat wrapped in warm weather patterns with little relief in sight for those hoping for cooler days ahead.
