The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), in its FY 2026 budget, has announced plans to set up a medical institute along with a super speciality hospital in the Nikol area. The proposed hospital will come up on the AMC MET plot in Viratnagar Ward and will provide advanced treatment facilities for heart, kidney, cancer, neurological, orthopaedic and other diseases. An allocation of ₹50 crore has been proposed for the project.
In addition, the civic body has proposed setting up urban health centres and community health centres at Jashodanagar TP-64, Saijpurbogha TP-66, and Shahibaug Ward, along with physiotherapy centres in Sabarmati and Chandlodiya wards. A total allocation of ₹32 crore has been earmarked for these initiatives.
