Gujarat is witnessing the initial signs of winter’s departure, with meteorologists noting a pronounced shift towards warmer temperatures ahead of the Mahashivratri festival later this month. This transition, characterized as a “warm winter,” signals a significant change in the state’s weather pattern.
Following nearly ten days of fluctuating temperatures and overcast skies, Gujarat has entered a phase of consistent warming. While nights and early mornings retain a cool feel, afternoons have begun to show a marked increase in temperature, suggesting a seasonal shift.
Weather experts report that temperatures have been on the rise over the past 48 hours, despite some lingering cloud cover. According to forecasts, no major weather changes are anticipated in the immediate future. “We expect the current trend to continue, with gradual warming leading into the days ahead,” said a meteorologist from the India Meteorological Department.
In the last 24 hours, Kutch district recorded minimum temperatures ranging from 13 to 15 degrees Celsius, while other regions of the state saw lows between 16 and 20 degrees. Maximum temperatures varied across Gujarat, hovering between 27 and 34 degrees.
The current climatic conditions suggest that winter is nearing its conclusion. Experts anticipate that residents may begin to experience the early warmth of summer within the next ten days as daytime temperatures rise further.
