Two well-known schools in Ahmedabad were thrown into a state of alert on Thursday morning after receiving bomb threat emails, triggering panic among students, parents, and staff. The threats were sent to three branches of Saint Kabir School and St Xavier’s School, leading authorities to immediately step up security at the campuses.
Officials said the threatening email was received shortly after classes had begun. School management promptly informed the police control room and, as a safety measure, asked parents to pick up their children. This led to a rush of anxious parents arriving at the school premises.Teams from the Ahmedabad Crime Branch, along with the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and dog squad, were deployed to the schools. Thorough searches were carried out across classrooms, corridors, playgrounds, and other common areas.Police confirmed that extensive security checks were conducted and the situation is currently under control. An investigation has been launched to identify the sender of the threat email.
