Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport is set to open a new passenger lounge at the international terminal T2 during Uttarayan. Airport officials said the modern lounge will cater to both international and domestic travellers.
With the airport handling a daily footfall of around 35,000 passengers and numbers steadily increasing, the need for an international-standard lounge had been felt for some time. The new facility is expected to ease passenger congestion and enhance travel comfort.
The lounge will be able to accommodate more than 100 passengers at a time and will offer amenities such as a dedicated relaxation area and a charging zone. Passengers will be served a variety of food options, including Indian and Gujarati dishes, as well as Chinese and Italian cuisine.
Meanwhile, airport authorities are also considering shifting some domestic flights from terminal T1 to terminal T2. The move is aimed at managing the growing passenger load more efficiently and ensuring better utilisation of terminal T2.
