The Gujarat State Examination Board (GSEB) on Friday said that around 1,100 candidates have raised objections to the provisional answer key of the Teachers Eligibility Test–1 (TET-1), which was conducted in December 2025. Candidates were allowed to submit objections to the answer key until December 31.
According to GSEB officials, the objections relate to nearly 20 questions in the provisional answer key. “Candidates have submitted multiple objections based on their understanding of the questions. An expert panel will now examine these objections and verify the correct answers. Based on the panel’s findings, a decision will be taken on whether grace marks should be awarded,” an official said.
The two-hour TET-1 exam was held at 511 centres across five cities in the state and was attended by 91,627 candidates. Each question carried one mark. Many candidates reported that the mathematics section was particularly difficult.
TET-1 is mandatory for candidates aspiring to teach Classes 1 to 5. A total of 1,01,518 candidates had registered for the exam, of which 90.26 per cent appeared.
