Amid ongoing political activity in the capital, preparations are quietly underway for a private family celebration, as Raihan Vadra, son of Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and businessman Robert Vadra, is set to get engaged to his longtime girlfriend Aviva Baig, sources close to the family said.
According to a media report, the engagement is expected to be a low-key, two- to three-day affair in Rajasthan, a state closely associated with the Gandhi family. The ceremony is likely to take place in early January 2026, with dates being finalised to suit family schedules.
Family Arrival and Preparations
Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, along with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Robert Vadra, and other family members, have arrived in Sawai Madhopur from Delhi by road. The family is staying at Hotel Sher Bagh near Ranthambore National Park, where the engagement celebrations and New Year festivities are scheduled.
Proposal and Family Consent
According to sources familiar with the developments, Raihan recently proposed to Aviva during a private moment, and she accepted. Both families have since agreed to the alliance, paving the way for the engagement ceremony. While the Vadra family has kept plans discreet, arrangements are reportedly in progress, with a focus on maintaining an intimate, private gathering.
About the Couple
Raihan Vadra, 25, is a photographer specialising in nature and wildlife, with his work featured in exhibitions and on digital platforms. Aviva Baig, a Delhi-based professional from a well-known family, is also involved in creative ventures and shares a keen interest in photography, particularly portrait and travel work.
The couple reportedly met through professional circles several years ago, bonding over shared creative interests and a passion for visual storytelling, which later developed into a personal relationship.
No Official Announcement Yet
Neither the Vadra family nor the Congress party has issued an official statement regarding the engagement. Sources confirmed that the ceremony will remain a private family affair, even as public attention continues to focus on the Vadra-Gandhi family’s political engagements.
