A serious accident occurred late at night on Ahmedabad’s SG Highway when a speeding dumper crashed into a car from behind near Rajpath Club. The impact was so strong that the car was pushed onto the road divider, leaving it heavily damaged. Fortunately, the family travelling in the vehicle escaped without injuries.
Eyewitnesses said the dumper was moving at high speed from Pakwan Crossroads towards the Iskcon Bridge when the driver lost control and hit the car. The collision scattered debris across the highway and led to traffic congestion as onlookers gathered at the spot.
Witnesses also claimed that despite police being present, traffic personnel said they had not received official information about the accident. No formal complaint had been registered at the time of reporting.
The incident has once again highlighted concerns over reckless driving by heavy vehicles on the SG Highway, particularly during late-night hours, and the need for stricter enforcement of traffic rules on one of Ahmedabad’s busiest stretches.
