Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has taken a major decision to hike ticket prices for this year’s Flower Show, making the event costlier for visitors. Ticket rates now go up to ₹500, which is expected to put an extra financial burden on middle-class families.
As announced by AMC, entry tickets on Sundays and public holidays have been fixed at ₹100, while on regular days visitors will have to pay ₹80. To help those who wish to avoid heavy crowds, AMC has introduced a special “prime slot” facility, for which the ticket price has been set at ₹500.
Despite the price hike, AMC has also announced several concessions as part of its social responsibility. Entry to the Flower Show will be completely free for persons with disabilities and for defence personnel. Students from municipal corporation schools will also be allowed free entry, while children from private schools will get tickets at a subsidised rate of ₹10.
The Flower Show will feature attractive displays, including replicas and artistic structures showcasing flowers from India and abroad. These displays are expected to be the main attraction for visitors in Ahmedabad.
