Two men were injured late Tuesday night after a speeding car allegedly rammed their scooter near Gujri Bazaar in Navrangpura. The ‘B’ Division Traffic Police have registered an FIR under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act against the unknown driver.
According to the complaint filed by Salim Ajmeri, 37, of Behrampura, the incident occurred around 10.15 pm on December 9. Salim was riding his Suzuki Access with his friend Firoz when a fast-approaching car struck their two-wheeler from behind.
The collision threw Salim onto the car’s windscreen, injuring his lips, forehead and face. Firoz suffered injuries to both legs. The scooter was badly damaged, and the car also showed impact marks.
The driver fled immediately, and police are still working to identify him.
A case has been registered for rash driving endangering human life along with relevant Motor Vehicles Act sections. Police officials said CCTV footage from the area is being examined, and the investigation is ongoing.
