Ahmedabad feels strong winter chill even at 17°C

Ahmedabad experienced a sharp winter-like chill on Friday, despite the minimum temperature being 17°C. Meteorologists say it’s not just the minimum temperature causing the cold, but a drop in the daytime temperature as well.

The city recorded 17.1°C as the minimum and 28.8°C as the maximum temperature. Experts say the smaller gap between day and night temperatures is making the weather feel colder. Across Gujarat, maximum temperatures have come down to around 30°C from 32–33°C a few days ago.

Temperatures in major cities

Earlier, the difference between day and night temperatures was around 20°C. This has now reduced to nearly 15°C, making the cold more noticeable across the state.
