An NID student has developed a compact tactical surveillance UAV called STRIX, designed to support internal security operations by giving police quick aerial monitoring, especially during covert missions.
Created as part of a tactical communication project, STRIX is built for rapid deployment and can be operational in under 60 seconds. “The UAV is portable enough for one person to carry in a backpack. It offers a stealthy presence for covert operations, has a modular design for quick repairs and adaptable payloads, and is engineered for rugged field performance,” said Monish Bafna, an MDes Product Design (2024) student at the National Institute of Design.
