Water supply at Gujarat University hostels is being cut off every night after 9 pm, leaving students without water in washrooms and other areas until 6 am. The issue sparked protests on Wednesday after repeated complaints failed to prompt action.
NSUI members, along with hostel students, carried empty water pots to the GU campus and raised slogans demanding uninterrupted water supply. They even planned to hand over empty pots to Vice-Chancellor Neerja Gupta as a symbolic gesture.
“If taps stop working at the VC’s bungalow, the entire estate department rushes to fix it. But when nearly 2,000 hostel residents face arbitrary water cuts, no one responds,” said NSUI leader Vikramsinh Gohil.
