The Gujarat Education Department has approved the creation of six new District Education Officer (DEO) offices to improve administrative efficiency and strengthen school monitoring.
According to a government resolution issued on November 17, new DEO offices will come up in Anjar (Kutch), Ahmedabad City (East), Vadodara (Rural), Rajkot (Rural), Surat (Rural), and Gandhinagar (Rural). The move involves reorganising the existing jurisdictions of Kutch, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Gandhinagar, Rajkot, and Surat into smaller and more manageable units.
Each new office will be led by a Class-1 DEO, with supporting staff reallocated from the current workforce.

- Anjar (Kutch): Sheth D V Government Higher Secondary School, outside Savasra Naka
- Ahmedabad City (East): Block B, Bahumali Bhavan, opposite Himalaya Mall, Vastrapur
- Vadodara (Rural): District Education & Training Bhavan, 3rd Floor, Karelibaug
- Gandhinagar (Rural): Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Vidya Mandir, Sector-7
- Rajkot (Rural): Old Wadhwan Otaro, Kasturba Road, opposite District Bank
- Surat (Rural): Block A, 3rd Floor, District Seva Sadan-2, Athwalines

Staff allocation
- Ahmedabad East: 47 sanctioned posts
- Ahmedabad West: 23 posts
- Vadodara Rural: 13 posts
- Vadodara Urban: 32 posts
- Other districts will be allocated staff based on workload and requirements.
