IndiGo to Launch Flights from Navi Mumbai Airport Starting December 25

IndiGo, the low-cost airline, on Saturday announced that it will begin flight operations from the newly inaugurated Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) starting December 25. The carrier will initially connect the airport to 10 cities across the country.

According to a statement from IndiGo, NMIA will be linked to Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, North Goa (Mopa), Jaipur, Nagpur, Cochin, and Mangalore. The airline also said it plans to progressively expand its operations at NMIA by adding direct routes to more destinations over time.

NMIA, the second airport in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, has been designed to complement the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and handle the growing demand for air travel from India’s financial capital. Its strategic location is expected to strengthen regional connectivity and drive economic development across western India.

IndiGo noted that the launch of its services from NMIA will integrate the new airport into its extensive domestic network of 95 destinations, further enhancing connectivity nationwide.

The Navi Mumbai International Airport was inaugurated last month by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who described it as a major milestone in India’s economic development and a symbol of the nation’s aspirations. He said the opening of Mumbai’s second international airport marks a significant step toward establishing the city as Asia’s premier connectivity hub. PM Modi also highlighted the airport’s potential to help farmers in Maharashtra access markets in Europe and the Middle East.
