A 45-year-old moped rider died and another was injured after an unidentified speeding vehicle hit them under the Odhav Ring Road bridge late Sunday night.
According to Odhav Traffic Police, the accident occurred around 11:45 pm on November 9, when Govind Parmar was riding his moped with Shailesh Parmar as pillion. The vehicle rammed into them from behind at high speed, throwing both off the bike.
Govind Parmar died on the spot, while Shailesh sustained multiple injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. The vehicle fled after the crash.
Police have registered a case based on a complaint by Maheshbhai Parmar, a relative of the deceased, under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act.
Authorities are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas and toll points to trace the hit-and-run vehicle. An investigation is underway.
