Gujarat University on Tuesday said it has taken note of the incident involving its foreign students caught at a liquor party in Shilaj.
As the students were admitted through the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the university will await directions from the central government on further action.
In a joint operation, the Ahmedabad Local Crime Branch (LCB), Special Operations Group (SOG), and Bopal Police raided a late-night party at Zephyr Stays Farm near Shilaj, arresting 20 people — including 13 African students, two bootleggers, the party organiser, and the farmhouse owner.
According to police, the students were from Kenya, the Republic of Botswana, Comoros, Mozambique, and Madagascar.
