To manage the festive crowd during Diwali and Chhath, Western Railway has temporarily suspended platform ticket sales at Ahmedabad and Sabarmati stations from Thursday to October 27, 2025. During this period, platform tickets will not be available at counters or online.
Western Railway officials said the measure aims to ensure smooth passenger movement and safety. Citizens are urged to visit stations only for travel-related purposes.
To meet the increased travel demand, a special train between Ahmedabad and Sheikhpura (Bihar) will run.
- Train 09463 Ahmedabad–Sheikhpura Special: Runs on October 18 and 23
- Train 09464 Sheikhpura–Ahmedabad Special: Runs on October 20 and 25, reaching Ahmedabad the following day
The train will stop at major stations including Nadiad, Anand, Chhayapuri, Godhra, Dahod, Ratlam, Ujjain, Bina, Satna, Prayagraj Chheoki, Gaya, and others.
The service will have AC 2-tier, Sleeper, and General coaches. Booking for Train 09463 opens October 17, 2025, at all PRS counters and on the IRCTC website.
