In a major relief for ad-hoc college teachers, the Gujarat government has issued a circular stating that their ad-hoc service will be treated as continuous when they are granted permanent appointments.
According to the Teachers Association, the move is expected to benefit around 580 teachers — including 216 from degree engineering colleges and 364 from diploma institutions.
This decision will also ensure that ad-hoc teachers are not deprived of various service-related and post-retirement benefits that were previously lost due to service breaks.
