Gujarat may witness unseasonal rainfall during the Diwali festival, following recent showers during Navratri. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain in parts of Saurashtra and South Gujarat between October 16 and 20.
On October 16, districts including Dang, Tapi, Navsari, and Valsad may see light rain.
From October 17 to 20, showers could spread to Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, and Valsad, potentially affecting festive celebrations.
Dip in Temperatures
- Along with rainfall, a cooling trend is being felt across the state.
- Amreli recorded the lowest night temperature at 17.6°C, followed by Naliya at 18.5°C.
- Ahmedabad saw a minimum of 21.1°C, about 1.1°C below normal, with a daytime maximum around 34°C.
Over the next few days, Ahmedabad’s night temperature is expected to remain near 21°C, while the daytime maximum on Tuesday is likely to reach 34°C.
Residents are advised to carry umbrellas and plan festivities keeping the rain and cooler nights in mind.
