Earn 1,000 FASTag Recharge by Reporting Dirty Highway Toilets: NHAI’s New Cleanliness Drive

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched an innovative cleanliness initiative, rewarding commuters with a ₹1,000 FASTag recharge for reporting dirty toilets at toll plazas across the country. The scheme is valid till October 31, 2025, and aims to improve hygiene standards on Indian highways.

How the Scheme Works

To participate, travellers must download the ‘Rajmargyatra’ app and upload clear, geo-tagged, and time-stamped photos of unclean toilets at NHAI-managed toll plazas. While submitting, users must provide their name, location, Vehicle Registration Number (VRN), and mobile number.

Each verified report earns a ₹1,000 FASTag recharge, credited directly to the registered FASTag account. The reward is non-transferable and cannot be claimed in cash.

Rules & Eligibility

  • The reward applies only once per VRN during the campaign period.
  • A toilet facility can receive a reward once per day, even if multiple users report it.
  • If multiple entries are received for the same toilet on the same day, only the first valid submission will be rewarded.
  • The scheme is limited to toilets managed by NHAI—facilities at fuel stations or dhabas are excluded.

Ensuring Fair Verification

All submissions undergo AI-based screening, followed by manual verification when needed. Manipulated, duplicate, or inauthentic photos will be rejected to maintain transparency and fairness.

A Step Toward Cleaner Highways

Through this initiative, NHAI aims to encourage public participation, enhance accountability, and ensure cleaner facilities for travellers. The program not only rewards commuters but also helps authorities take prompt action against poorly maintained restrooms.

By using the Rajmargyatra app, travellers can now contribute to cleaner highways — and earn ₹1,000 in their FASTag wallet while doing so.
