To manage the festive rush during Diwali and Chhath Puja, Western Railway has announced a series of special trains connecting Ahmedabad with Haridwar, Gandhidham, and Mumbai, offering additional travel options for passengers visiting family or planning vacations.
A major addition is the Sabarmati–Haridwar Bi-weekly AC Special (Train No. 09425/09426), which will depart from Sabarmati every Wednesday and Saturday at 8:50 am, and from Haridwar every Thursday and Sunday at 9:40 pm. The train will halt at Mehsana, Abu Road, Ajmer, Jaipur, Rewari, Delhi, and Meerut, and will have AC 3-tier coaches.
For passengers travelling towards Kutch or Mumbai, the Bandra Terminus–Gandhidham Weekly Superfast Special (Train No. 09471/09472) will halt at Ahmedabad. It will leave Bandra Terminus every Tuesday at 12:30 pm and reach Gandhidham at 1:30 am the next day. The return train will depart Gandhidham every Monday at 8:20 pm, reaching Bandra Terminus at 9:45 am. This service will operate from October 13 to November 11 and will include AC, sleeper, and general coaches.
Additionally, the Mumbai Central–Shakur Basti AC Superfast Special (Train No. 09003/09004) will run daily from October 15 to November 30, connecting passengers from Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, and nearby cities to Delhi.
Advance booking for all festive special trains is now open at PRS counters and on the IRCTC website. Railway officials said detailed schedules, fares, and coach compositions are available on the Indian Railways portal.
