Ahmedabad will mark Dussehra on Thursday with grand celebrations symbolising the victory of good over evil. Major venues hosting the traditional Ravan Dahan include Khokhra Railway Ground, Amraiwadi’s Nagarvel Hanuman Temple, Sabarmati D-Cabin, and the ISKCON Temple in Bhat.At Khokhra and Nagarvel Hanuman, where the tradition has continued for over 60 years, 45-foot-tall Ravan effigies will be set ablaze this evening, along with Ramlila performances. Organisers note that Khokhra was the first venue in Gujarat to host Ravan Dahan.At ISKCON Temple and Sabarmati, festivities will begin at 6 pm with Ram Darbar darshan, Ramlila, and the effigy burning. Apart from these main venues, several societies and public grounds across the city will also host smaller celebrations.
