Governor of Gujarat and Maharashtra, Acharya Devvrat, felicitated 48 women achievers at the She Talks Awards 2025, praising their contribution across fields such as science, sports, education, and administration.
Speaking as chief guest at a health awareness programme organised by cardiologist Dr. Aditya Batra, the Governor urged the younger generation to adopt a sattvic (pure and balanced) lifestyle. He stressed that unhealthy eating habits and fast food were major causes of rising illnesses, warning that the chemicals in such food were as harmful as intoxicants.
“Impure food leads to unethical behaviour, while a sattvic diet nurtures compassion, non-violence, and altruism,” Acharya said. He also highlighted the benefits of home-cooked meals, particularly food prepared by family members, and promoted naturopathy as an effective form of treatment.
Several dignitaries, including Congress MLA BB Batra, former ministers Krishan Murti Hooda and Subhash Batra, and top university officials, attended the event.
Among the women achievers honoured were international pugilists Jaismeen Lamboria, Meenakshi Hooda, Nupur Sheoran, and Pooja Bohra; badminton star Unnati Hooda; wrestler Ritika Hooda; mountaineer Reena Bhati; fitness coach Nikita Garg; media professional Dr. Sarvapriya Sangwan; influencer Shalu Kirar; cyclist Sweety Malik; and Haryanvi artist Anjvi Hooda.
