Pavagadh (Gujarat): Six people, including two lift operators and two workers, lost their lives on Saturday afternoon after a cargo ropeway collapsed at the renowned Shakti Peeth in Pavagadh.
According to officials, the accident occurred around 3:30 pm when the wire of the goods ropeway, which was used to transport construction materials from Pavagadh Manchi to Nij Mandir, suddenly snapped.
Police and fire brigade teams rushed to the spot immediately after receiving reports of the incident. The Panchmahal Collector confirmed that the deceased included two liftmen, two workers, and two others who were present at the site.
An inquiry has been launched to determine the exact cause of the accident. Preliminary findings suggest that the rope break led to the fatal collapse.
The local administration has assured that further details will be shared following the ongoing investigation.
