Gujarat is set to witness another spell of intense monsoon rains, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing orange and yellow alerts across the state till August 25.
Orange Alert
- August 22 (Friday): Sabarkantha, Kutch, Aravali, and Mahisagar to receive very heavy rain with thunderstorms and lightning at isolated spots.
- August 23 (Saturday): Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Amreli, and Bhavnagar under orange alert.
- August 24 (Sunday): Amreli, Bhavnagar, Sabarkantha, Mehsana, and Aravali to remain under orange alert.
- August 25 (Monday): Six districts will be under orange alert (specific names to be announced).
Yellow Alert
All other districts of Gujarat remain under a yellow alert for heavy rain with thunderstorms and lightning during this period.
The IMD has warned of continuous heavy rainfall across the state till August 25, with shifting orange alerts covering different districts each day. Residents are advised to stay cautious of waterlogging, flooding, and lightning incidents.
