The Ahmedabad Crime Branch has added a new twist to the Class 10 student murder case outside Seventh Day Adventist School in Khokhra. Investigators have started the process of making the school an accused, citing “serious negligence and failure of duty.”
According to a media report, the Crime Branch is seeking court approval to formally charge the school management, holding it responsible for not acting on clear signs of rivalry between student groups. This rivalry, they believe, eventually led to the fatal assault earlier this month.
Two juveniles have already been arrested, and the killing has sparked anger among parents and local residents.
“Evidence shows the school ignored warning signs and failed to take preventive action. We are moving to hold them accountable,” a senior officer said.
If the court allows, the school will face negligence charges, making institutional responsibility a key part of the case. Investigators added that this move will give fresh momentum to the probe in the weeks ahead.
