The Gujarat government on Monday announced a major reshuffle in the state police force, transferring 105 IPS and SPS officers across various postings.
Cyber Centre of Excellence Gets First Appointments
The Cyber Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Gandhinagar, established to counter the surge in cybercrime cases, received its first set of appointments. Rajdeepsinh N. Jhala was named SP of the CoE, while ASPs Sanjaykumar Keshvala and Vivek Bheda were promoted to senior time scale and also posted as SPs at the centre.
Meanwhile, officers Dharmendra Sharma and Mayur Patil were placed in the “waiting for orders” category.
In a separate notification, DGP Manoj Agarwal, previously serving as Director of Civil Defence and Commandant of Home Guards, was appointed to the ex-cadre post of DGP (CID, Crime & Railways).
Ahmedabad Gets 9 New DCPs, 3 Internal Transfers
Ahmedabad City saw a major reshuffle with nine new DCPs appointed and three internal transfers.
- Harshadkumar Patel, SP of Bhavnagar, was posted as DCP (Zone-1), filling a post vacant since April after Balram Meena was deputed as ADC to the Gujarat Governor.
- Rupal N. Solanki was made DCP (Zone-3), and Atulkumar Bansal was appointed DCP (Zone-4).
- Jitendra Agrawal took charge as DCP (Zone-5), while Bhagirath T. Gadhvi was posted as DCP (Zone-6).
- B. R. Patel, previously with Metro Security-1, Ahmedabad, became DCP Traffic (West), replacing Neeta Desai, who was transferred to Patel’s former post.
- Rahul Tripathi was made DCP, SOG, and Himkar Singh was transferred to the vacant post of DCP (EOW).
- Nareshkumar M. Kanzariya was appointed DCP Traffic (East), while Chirag I. Patel took charge as DCP Traffic (Admin).
- In internal movements, Reema Munshi shifted from DCP, Special Cell to DCP, Control Room.
Transfers in Surat, Vadodara, and Rajkot
Other major cities also witnessed key changes:
- Surat City: 11 officers were transferred as DCPs, including Karanraj Vaghela, Shaifali Barwal, Anupam, Panna Momaya, Lakhdirsinh Zala, Bishakha Jain, Raghav Jain, Nidhi Thakur, Kanan M. Desai, Juli C. Kothiya, and A. M. Parmar.
- Vadodara City: 7 officers were moved, namely Andrew Macwan, Rushikesh B. Upadhyay, Himanshu Kumar Verma, Falguni R. Patel, Jagdish M. Chavda, Manjita Vanzara, and Tejal Patel.
- Rajkot City: 3 officers, including Harpalainh M. Jadeja, Hetal C. Patel, and Rajesh Desai, were transferred. Additionally, DCP Jagdish Bangarwa was shifted internally from Zone-2 to the Crime Branch.
