Tension broke out in Ahmedabad’s Nikol area when residents confronted Daskroi MLA Babu Jamnadas Patel during his visit with four BJP councillors to address public grievances.
According to a media report, the situation intensified after councillor Baldev Patel allegedly spoke rudely when locals complained about bad roads, overflowing drains, poor drinking water supply, and waterlogging during rains. A video of the clash has since gone viral on social media.
The incident occurred near Amar Jawan Circle, where MLA Patel was joined by councillors Baldev Patel, Deepak Panchal, Usha Rohit, Vilas Desai, and other party members. Residents also accused councillors of ignoring their phone calls. Following the heated exchange, BJP leaders reportedly left after taking photos without speaking to all those present.
A similar confrontation had taken place earlier in Asarwa, where locals challenged BJP MLA Darshanaben Vaghela and Shahibaug ward councillors during a visit to Jahangirpura School, alleging no progress on road repairs, water supply, or drainage work.
