At 22, Laxman, a Nepali youth in Ahmedabad, is turning his routine life into something vibrant through his self-written rap songs.
According to a media report, one quiet afternoon at a chai stall, he broke into an unplanned performance in Nepali, drawing a crowd. Though few understood the words, they felt the rhythm and swayed to his beats.
Laxman moved to Ahmedabad six months ago and works as a domestic help near Sola bridge to support his mother. But his true passion is rap—a love sparked at age 15 in his Nepali village after hearing American rapper XXXTentacion. Since then, he has been writing and performing wherever he can.
Life took a tougher turn when he moved to Ahmedabad to earn a living. “My mother and I are in Ahmedabad, while my father stayed back in Nepal for work. My mother underwent a surgery and I am taking care of her here.”
“After coming to a new, big city, I did not stop writing songs. I write about heartbreak, societal issues, love, and friendship,” he added.
When asked if he wanted to be famous, Laxman didn’t hesitate and with his innocent smile said, “Hip-hop ki duniya me famous hone ke liya mehnat aur struggle karna padega”.
