The Food Department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has issued notices to 560 food outlets across the city for unhygienic conditions, following a large-scale inspection drive conducted between July 14 and August 1.
According to a media report,, AMC officials inspected 1,420 food establishments and collected 307 samples of various food items—including milk products, sweets, bakery goods, gram flour, edible oils, and spices—for testing at the public health laboratory.
Out of the inspected units, 560 were found violating food safety norms. The AMC also collected ₹16.45 lakh as administrative charges for non-compliance and an additional ₹4.4 lakh from units operating without proper licenses or registration.
