Amid rising road accidents in Gujarat, another tragic incident occurred in Gandhinagar, where a speeding Tata Harrier hit a group of people near City Pulse cinema in Randesan, resulting in two deaths, including a woman.
According to a media reports, the woman died on the spot, while five others sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital. One of the injured later succumbed to their injuries, while others remain in critical condition.
Preliminary information suggests the driver may have been under the influence of alcohol. Following the incident, an angry crowd gathered, surrounded the vehicle, and allegedly assaulted the driver.
Police reached the scene promptly, detained the driver, and sent him for a medical examination. An investigation into the case is currently underway.
