Around 100 metres of the SG Highway stretch between Karnavati Club and YMCA will remain closed to traffic for the next six months due to ongoing work on an elevated corridor in the area.
However, the opposite side of the highway—from ISKCON to Sarkhej—will remain open for traffic, as per a police notification issued on Monday.
According to a media report,”The National Highway Division (Ahmedabad) is constructing an elevated corridor (flyover) from Karnavati Club to Y.M.C.A. Club on S.G. Highway. With regards to this work, the pillars of the bridge have been installed at the given place and the work of installing girders on these pillars will be carried out. This work will be done round-the-clock for 6 months,”.
The notification also outlined alternate routes. Vehicles, both small and large, coming from Sanand and Sarkhej can take a left turn at YMCA Club, then a right at Bhagwan Circle, followed by another right at Zaveri Circle (Chakri Circle), to reach Karnavati Club and continue towards SG Highway.
