A group of 15 MSc Semester 3 students from the Department of Microbiology at St. Xavier’s College recently visited the GeneXplore Diagnostics and Research Centre for an insightful one-day educational excursion.
During the visit, students were introduced to pioneering research in gene editing, genetic disorders, embryological gene sequencing in IVF, and the use of cutting-edge Microarray technology. Experts at the centre guided them through the latest advancements in the field, offering hands-on exposure to high-end laboratory equipment such as DNA sequencers, PCR machines, and sophisticated microscopes. The visit provided the students with a valuable real-world perspective on genetics and molecular diagnostics.
