The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has unveiled plans to revamp the Law Garden and Mithakhali precincts with modern infrastructure and street furniture as part of a ₹99.90 crore urban development project (excluding GST). The initiative aims to enhance public spaces and improve urban livability.
Under the project, six major roads will be upgraded:
- Mount Carmel to Jalaram Underpass
- NCC Chowk to Subhadrapura Junction
- GICEA to Panchvati Circle
- Mithakhali Crossroads to Wagh Bakri Tea Lounge
- Mount Carmel to Commerce Six Road
- Shri Veerchand Raghavji Gandhi Chowk to Mithakhali Circle
According to a media report, the redevelopment will include organised parking areas, tree-lined walkways, and dedicated footpaths for pedestrians. Additional amenities such as vending zones, gazebos, benches, sculptures, landscaping, and plantations will also be added. Traffic improvements like signage, thermoplastic road markings, and engineering enhancements are part of the blueprint.
In parallel, AMC announced two more infrastructure projects: a ₹53 crore mini sports complex in Ghuma, and a ₹13 crore facility in Chandkheda featuring a swimming pool and gymnasium.
