The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has announced plans to build a modern sports complex in Vastral at an estimated cost of over ₹51 crore. Spread across 43,764 sq m, the project is set to be completed by August 2025.
The complex will offer extensive indoor and outdoor sports facilities. Outdoor features include a 400-metre athletics track, a football ground, four tennis courts, and designated zones for long jump and triple jump. Ample parking will also be developed on-site.
The complex will house two main buildings—a library and an indoor sports facility. The indoor sports building will include:
- Basement: Parking for 91 two-wheelers and 40 four-wheelers
- Ground floor: Administrative office, cafeteria, lounge, table tennis room, and a swimming pool with filtration system, changing rooms, toilets, and seating for 100 spectators
- First floor: Gymnasium, steam sauna, jacuzzi, and a multi-use hall for yoga, judo, karate, boxing, and other floor exercises
- Second floor: Multipurpose court for badminton, volleyball, and basketball
- Third floor: Spectator seating for 176 people
The facility aims to promote sports and fitness in the city by offering a comprehensive training and recreational environment.
