Ahmedabad witnessed a shopping surge on the occasion of Ashadhi Bij, one of the most auspicious days in the Hindu calendar. From early morning, markets, vehicle showrooms, and real estate sites were bustling with people looking to buy new vehicles or book homes and office spaces.
According to media report, the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA), the city saw the sale of around 5,500 two-wheelers and 1,020 cars. While two-wheeler sales stayed consistent with last year, car sales dropped slightly by 10%. Last year, around 1,150 cars were sold during the same period. Some showrooms even held group delivery events.
Pranav Shah, Gujarat president of FADA, said, “Sales ranged from entry-level to luxury vehicles, but overall car demand was slightly lower than last year.”
The real estate market also saw a positive trend, with many builders performing Bhoomi Pujan ceremonies for new projects in and around the city. Several families booked new homes or offices and held Griha Pravesh (housewarming) rituals on the day.
