A video circulating on social media has sparked widespread concern among ramen noodle enthusiasts after revealing a health warning label on the packaging of a popular brand. The clip, shared by Instagram user ‘@omggotworms’, shows the back of several ramen packets displaying a printed caution: “Warning: Cancer and Reproductive Harm.”
In the video, the content creator flips over multiple packets to highlight the fine-print warning, urging viewers to inspect product labels more carefully. “Wait… Ramen noodles come with this warning? Cancer + reproductive harm?? Read the labels carefully,” the post caption read.
The video has since gone viral, drawing a flood of reactions from surprised and alarmed social media users. While some called the revelation an “eye-opener,” others claimed they were already aware of the health risks associated with processed and instant foods.
One user commented, “Nearly everything we eat can be harmful if consumed excessively. I’ve had ramen maybe six times a year—any more, and it gets too spicy.” Another remarked, “It doesn’t even feel healthy when you eat it. Why not opt for spaghetti instead?”
The label appears to be in compliance with California’s Proposition 65, which mandates that businesses provide warnings about significant exposures to chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. Nonetheless, the video has prompted many to reconsider their dietary choices and brought attention back to the ingredients used in highly processed snack foods.
