Just three days before the Jagannath Rathyatra in Ahmedabad, the Gujarat High Court received a bomb threat via email on June 24, prompting an immediate and heightened security response.
Upon receiving the threat, the Sola High Court Police and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) quickly reached the court premises and launched a thorough search operation. The court complex was cordoned off, and multiple police teams were deployed to ensure safety.
As of now, no suspicious object has been found. Investigations are ongoing to trace the origin of the email and identify the sender.
Bomb Threats Target Schools in Vadodara
Earlier the same day, a bomb threat email was sent to Gujarat Refinery English Medium School in Karadiya village, Vadodara. According to the school principal, the email read: “A bomb has been planted in the school which can blast anytime.”
All students were safely evacuated, and bomb and dog squads conducted a detailed inspection of the school.
On Monday, Navrachana Higher Secondary School in Vadodara’s Sama area also received a similar threat, marking the second such email threat to the school this year—the first being in January. In response, Sama police, the bomb squad, and senior officials promptly arrived and checked the premises thoroughly.
Authorities continue to investigate whether these threats are connected and are working to track down the culprits behind the disturbing series of hoax emails.
