Core engineering branches continued to lead the placement season at LD College of Engineering (LDCE) in 2025, with civil engineering student Jay Gandhi receiving the highest package of ₹18.68 lakh per annum. The offer came from Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilisers and Chemicals (GNFC), Bharuch, matching last year’s top package.
This year also marked a major milestone for the college, as it recorded 1,018 job offers — the highest number in the last decade, signaling a strong placement season across disciplines.
Keyur Hirpara, the college’s placement official, noted a surge in demand for core engineering branches like civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation.
“These sectors are seeing faster growth compared to the supply of qualified professionals,” he explained. In contrast, while demand in IT and computer science remains steady, the supply of candidates continues to increase, making competition tougher in those fields.
Semiconductor Industry Makes a Mark
The VLSI and semiconductor sector also showed strong interest, making 19 offers this year. Among the notable selections, Urmi Shah, an electrical engineering student, secured a package of ₹13.25 lakh per annum from Micron, a US-based semiconductor giant.
These trends suggest a promising shift in placement dynamics, with core and hardware-focused industries gaining ground alongside traditional tech sectors.
