Cricket Stadium Celebration

Despite strict multi-layered security arrangements at the Narendra Modi Stadium for the IPL final, several challenges emerged, including attempts at unauthorized entry, mobile phone theft, and ticket black marketing. However, authorities successfully managed the crowd and prevented any major disruptions.

Business News

Unauthorized Entry Attempts Foiled

The final match, held at the world’s largest cricket stadium with a capacity of over one lakh, attracted a huge crowd. Many people gathered around the venue without valid tickets, raising concerns over crowd management and possible ticketing loopholes.

According to police officials, individuals tried to enter using fake or invalid tickets, such as color photocopies, outdated passes, or QR code screenshots. While a few managed to pass through the initial manual ticket check by volunteers, they were caught during the second stage at automated turnstiles equipped with barcode scanners. Police personnel stationed at these checkpoints quickly intercepted and removed unauthorized entrants.

“All such attempts were stopped due to alertness at security gates, metal detectors, and podiums. No major breach occurred,” said a senior officer involved in the security arrangement.

Mobile Phone Thefts Reported

Amid the large crowd, six cases of mobile phone theft or snatching were reported at the Chandkheda police station, either through FIRs or e-FIRs. Two suspects have already been arrested, and the stolen phones recovered. Police are investigating whether these thefts are part of a larger organized group.

Black Marketing of Tickets Uncovered

In a crackdown on ticket black marketing, city police registered two FIRs related to the unauthorized resale of IPL final tickets. Three individuals were arrested, and fifteen tickets were seized during the operation. Authorities are probing whether more people are involved in this illegal activity.

Security Measures Praised

Despite the crowd challenges, the overall security operation was considered effective. Officials credited their detailed planning and real-time monitoring for preventing any law-and-order issues. The IPL final was held smoothly, thanks to the coordinated efforts of security forces, volunteers, and event organizers.
