The number of active COVID-19 cases in Gujarat went above 320 on Sunday. Gujarat is now fourth among states with the most active cases, after Kerala, Maharashtra, and Delhi. In the past 24 hours, Gujarat saw 55 new active cases. This is also the first COVID-related death in Ahmedabad in 3 years.
Ahmedabad’s active COVID cases
As of Sunday, out of 320 active COVID-19 cases in Gujarat, 163 are in Ahmedabad. On May 31, Ahmedabad reported 35 new cases. A 46-year-old woman from Danilimda, who was being treated at LG Hospital, has died. Right now, 163 patients in Ahmedabad are being treated for COVID-19.
In May, COVID-19 cases in Ahmedabad increased worrying. The city reported a total of 230 cases last month. Out of these, 56 patients have recovered and left the hospital. Currently, 163 patients are still under treatment. For the past two days, Ahmedabad has been seeing more than 30 new cases each day.

On May 31, 35 new COVID-19 cases were reported, and 17 patients got better and went home. Some cases were found in both the boys’ and girls’ hostels at LG Hospital. Because of this, isolation wards have been reopened at LG Hospital, Vadilal Hospital, Shardaben Hospital, and SVP Hospital.
As COVID-19 cases rise, the Gujarat Health Department and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation are said to be hiding the true numbers. Meanwhile, states like Maharashtra, Delhi, and Kerala are giving honest and regular updates to the public.
