Ahmedabad City Police Now Cover Some Areas of Rural Gandhinagar

The Gujarat government has expanded the jurisdiction of the Ahmedabad City Police Commissionerate, bringing areas like Bhat Circle and Koteshwar—previously under Ahmedabad Rural and Gandhinagar district—under its control. The state home department issued an official notification on Tuesday.

Earlier, there had been confusion among Gandhinagar Police, Ahmedabad City Police, and Ahmedabad Rural Police about which force had authority over certain areas.

Because the SP Ring Road runs through areas under three different police jurisdictions, residents often faced confusion and difficulty in filing complaints.

To resolve this, the Ahmedabad City Police jurisdiction now includes areas such as the SP Ring Road and Ranasan (previously under Dabhoda Police Station), as well as Bhat Circle and Koteshwar (earlier under Adalaj Police Station).

Ahmedabad City Police jurisdiction areas:

Sector-1, Zone-2:

Ring Road from Apollo Circle to Tapovan Circle including both service roads. Except for the right side service road from Apollo Circle to Indira Bridge, the area includes Koteshwar village and surrounding regions. From Tapovan Circle to Zundal Circle, up to the midpoint of Tragad underpass including the Ring Road and service roads. From the midpoint of Tragad underpass to the midpoint of Vaishnodevi underpass including Ring Road, service roads, and Khoraj village and its outskirts.

Sector-1, Zone-1:

From the midpoint of Vaishnodevi Circle and underpass to Bhadaj Circle up to Sardar Dham, including Ring Road and service roads. From Gota Bridge towards Gandhinagar to Vaishnodevi Circle overbridge’s Gandhinagar-bound service road. The area also includes the service roads from Vaishnodevi Circle to SGVP and KD Hospital.

Sector-1, Zone-7:

From Hebatpur cut to the midpoint of Shilaj Bridge on Ring Road and service roads. From Hebatpur cut via Shilaj Circle to under the Shilaj Bridge, up to the railway track on the Ahmedabad city side including the inner Ring Road area.

Sector-1, Zone-7:

From Sanathal Toll Tax to Sanathal Circle including Ring Road and service roads. From Bakrol Circle to Toll Tax, the Ahmedabad city side of Ring Road.

Sector-2, Zone-4:

From Ranasan Railway crossing to Ranasan (Nana Chiloda Circle), up to the midpoint of the bridge over Sabarmati River, including Ring Road and both service roads. From Naroda towards Mota Chiloda up to the northern side of the overbridge at Ranasan Circle, and up to the service road area adjoining survey numbers of Ranasan and Valad Gram Panchayat.

Sector-2, Zone-4:

From the midpoint of Sabarmati Bridge on Ring Road to Bhat toll booth, including Airport Circle, both service roads, and the road from Apollo Circle to the midpoint of Indira Bridge. Also includes the riverfront areas from Indira Bridge to Apollo Circle and via Bhat Toll Booth.

Sector-2, Zone-6:

From Kamod Circle to Aslali Circle on the Ring Road. From Aslali Circle to Bhutia Canal on the Ring Road.

(From Ahmedabad Rural Aslali Police Station to Ahmedabad’s Narol Police Station)

Sector-2, Zone-6:

From Ropda Bridge to Express Highway, including Ring Road, service roads, and inner areas.

(From Ahmedabad Rural Vivekanandnagar Police Station to Ahmedabad’s Ramol Police Station)
