A tragic incident took place in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, where a four-month-old baby died after being attacked by a pet dog on Monday.
The horrifying moment was captured on the society’s CCTV cameras, and the footage quickly went viral on social media.
The incident took place in Ahmedabad’s Radhe Residency. According to a report by Aaj Tak, Pratik Dhabi’s sister took his four-month-old girl child, named Rishika, in her arms and went outside. Notably, a girl living in the same society was walking in the parking area with her Rottweiler pet dog.
However, when the girl was talking on the phone, the dog’s leash slipped out of her hand, and the animal attacked Rishika’s aunt. In the CCTV footage, it could be seen that when the woman with the baby in her arms fell to the ground, the dog attacked the child.
Meanwhile, another woman standing nearby rushed to save the child. She immediately took the baby in her arms and left the spot. The baby was then rushed to a hospital. However, she could not survive and succumbed to the injuries.
As per the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation rules, it is mandatory to register pet dogs, reported Aaj Tak. However, it is still not clear whether the owner of the dog made the registration. It is a matter of investigation.
Rishika’s family filed a police complaint against the dog’s owner. According to residents of the society, the same dog had bitten two people earlier as well. Although a complaint was made at the time, no action was taken.
