A Pakistani drone struck a residential area in Punjab’s Firozpur district late Friday, leaving a family injured. The victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment, officials confirmed.
The incident occurred amid heightened aerial threats from across the border, as India’s air defence systems intercepted multiple drones for the second consecutive night in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer. Security sources said the drones, believed to have been launched from Pakistan, were successfully neutralised mid-air.
Following the drone activity, a red alert was sounded across several border districts. Blackouts were enforced in sensitive regions, including Pokhran, where sirens blared soon after the attempted intrusion. The sudden clampdown created panic among local residents, who have been advised to stay indoors and avoid spreading unverified information.
