The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has announced that the newly renovated Balvatika at Kankaria will open in May. The upgraded children’s park will include new attractions like a snow park, wax museum, glass tower, and 21 adventure rides for all age groups.
AMC Recreation Committee Chairman Jayesh Trivedi said that the Balvatika has been upgraded at a cost of Rs 22 crore. The entry fee has been set at Rs 50, which includes access to six other attractions such as the coin house, glass house (AC), shoe house, landscape garden, selfie zone and glow station.
Additional charges will apply for other rides, including the snow park, which will cost Rs 450 with a rental jacket. The redevelopment also introduces a transparent glass tower providing elevated views of the surroundings and a weather-proof wax museum. The revamped facility promises to offer something for everyone, from children to adults, with a variety of adventure rides, museums and selfie zones.
Revenue for AMC
Earlier, Balvatika earned around Rs 10 lakh per year. Now, AMC will get a fixed annual rent of Rs 19.23 lakh, along with 27% of ticket sales revenue. With this new model, the park’s annual income is expected to increase to about Rs 40 lakh.
