Prasar Bharati Launches ‘Waves’ OTT Platform, Offering a Fusion of Nostalgia, Culture, and Modern Content

Prasar Bharati has launched its new OTT platform, ‘Waves’, aimed at providing viewers around the globe with a nostalgic and culturally immersive infotainment experience.

‘Waves’ presents an extensive array of content spanning ten distinct genres, showcasing timeless favourites such as Ramayan, Mahabharat, Shaktimaan and Hum Log. The platform blends entertainment with cultural heritage, offering video streaming, free-to-play gaming, live TV broadcasts with 65 channels, radio streaming and in-app integration for multimedia and gaming experiences.

Waves has partnered with the government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), enabling users to browse and purchase items directly through the platform.

The OTT platform also supports modern content creators, with notable features like live streaming of key religious and national events, including the daily aarti of Lord Ram from Ayodhya and the monthly Mann Ki Baat address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

With over 11,000 pieces of content available, Waves offers an extensive library that includes 9,295 e-books and journals, 1,856 movies, and 590 shows across various categories.
