Ahmedabad’s famous Manek Chowk night market is all set to reopen from Monday night after being closed for a month due to drainage issues.
The market, known for its vibrant street food and lively night-time atmosphere, had to shut down temporarily so the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) could fix drainage overflow problems that were troubling both vendors and visitors.
Drainage Issues Prompted Closure
Due to complaints about drainage overflow, the AMC began repair work using heavy machinery and a dedicated team. Their quick efforts have now made the area clean, safe, and ready for the public again.
Work Completed, Market Back in Action
Municipal councillor Umang Nayak confirmed that the repair work is complete and the market will open as usual from Monday night. He stated that AMC acted quickly after receiving multiple complaints and ensured proper rehabilitation of the drainage lines.
Manek Chowk’s Night Life Returns
The reopening brings back the lively spirit of Manek Chowk, which is a major attraction in Ahmedabad. Locals and tourists can once again enjoy the street food, while vendors are happy to resume their business.
Thanks to the AMC’s swift work, Manek Chowk is ready to shine again as one of the city’s favorite night spots.
