The city-based Gujarati Book Club hosted a special event, the ‘Literary Film Festival,’ over the weekend. As part of the festival, they screened documentary films on three prominent figures of Gujarati literature: novelist Govardhanram Tripathi, poet Ramesh Parekh, and historical novelist and educationist Kanhaiyalal Munshi. Independent short filmmaker Dhruv Shastri, speaking at the event, highlighted that these films pay tribute to literature while helping bridge the gap between the younger generation and literary heritage. Additionally, Kishan Kalyani from the Gujarati Book Club announced the Literary Film Festival Competition, inviting young filmmakers to create 5-7 minute films on any literary figure or book.
